Dr. Bill Mayer, DVM

Mayer Veterinary Hospital was established in September of 2004, by Dr. Bill Mayer, a native of Baton Rouge and graduate of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. He has multiple college degrees including a Masters in Forestry and Wildlife. He is married to Joanna Merrick and together they have 4 children. Dr. Mayer's interests are in companion animal medicine and surgery. He is a member of the American Veterinary Association, Louisiana Veterinary Association, Coastal Conservation Association, Our Lady of Fatima and past president of the Acadiana Area Veterinary Association. Dr. Mayer's hobbies include duck and dove hunting, fishing, gardening, and cooking.

Emma Bloom

Emma Bloom is originally from Wisconsin. There are so many things to love about working with animals. A few highlights of having this amazing job are getting to meet new patients and helping each case, whether it is just a routine annual or a sick patient. She loves the learning experiences she receives every day on the job. There is never a dull moment working here.

Hannah

I am currently a senior at UL majoring in pre-veterinary medicine! For as long as I can remember this field has been such a passion of mine and cannot wait to continue   contributing to it as a DVM someday soon! My favorite part of this job is being able to advocate for each pet and their needs! I love being able to help bring energy and joy back to a pet and their owners!

Chloe Chiasson

Chloe found Mayer Veterinary Hospital while on the pursuit to further her education in veterinary medicine, while working towards her Biology degree at UL. With the goal to be a future DVM. She is very passionate about working to better the lives of animals as well as providing comfort to those in need.

Kaysha

Being in veterinary medicine for 4 years. Kaysha greatest achievement is being the voice of those who cannot speak for themselves.

Annie Boutin

Annie joined our team last year as the receptionist and has fallen in love with the job. She loves to help our team in any way she can while also giving lots of pets and love to our clients! She plans on one day continuing her education to become a technician.
